​Common wisdom is that home design projects are long drawn-out, messy, costly, and nerve-racking endeavors.  Not for the faint of heart.  And calling in an interior designer?  They could be judgmental or force their taste into your project.  But how else do you avoid costly mistakes?

Bellehaven’s answer is to provide you with an empowering and collaborative design process, focused on your taste and your desires for your family’s life at home.

​1) From the first meeting, we explore your wish list and keep an eye on your desired budget range.  (If you haven’t even gotten to a budget range, we can help guide you through that process.) We focus on our client’s aspirations for their home and then develop a design that they love now and will for many years to come. Our partnership with the homeowners alleviates anxiety around making decisions they may later come to regret.

• Review your Pinterest boards, magazine clippings, or other inspirations
• Explore a realistic budget to prioritize your key must-have elements over “nice to have’s.”
• Begin initial concept boards and rough sketches to develop a design direction and inspiration to move forward.

2) During the design phase, we provide clear and detailed drawings and sample swatches so you gain peace of mind that you’re making the right choices for your unique family life. ​

• Select your color palette from the fabric, paint, wallpaper, tile, countertop, etc. samples we bring to enhance communication of the design.
• Review 3D color drawings together to refine the design concept developed in step one
• Create construction drawing sets and a detailed specification spreadsheet for the general contractor.

3) ​When it’s time to bring in a contractor, we can share our list of fully vetted professionals so you have peace of mind that your project will be completed on time and on budget.

• Review the quotes on labor and materials from vetted contractors.
• Plan the best timeframe for implementation of your design.
• Bellehaven makes regular visits to your home during the renovation process to ensure the essence of the design is being faithfully carried out by the contractor, as well as to answer any questions that arise

4) Once your project is completed, Bellehaven will remain “on the job” to ensure any last details are resolved, so that you can enjoy your new spaces and welcome family and friends into them.
