GOALS ACHIEVED

These rooms had been meticulously maintained, yet they were over 20 years old, so their styles were out of date.  Since they remained very functional spaces, we focused on adding new paint colors, wallpapers, fabrics, and accessories.

DESIGN CHALLENGE

This Master Bedroom and Bathroom had been meticulously maintained.  But time had moved on from both rooms' original design aesthetic. 
​

• The client first approached me seeking to refresh, instead of remodel, these spaces. 
• She is a very stylish and accomplished woman, so her spaces needed to reflect these parts of her identity. 
• The ground rules in this project were to make the maximum visual impact while not actually gutting and remodeling these rooms.​

DESIGN SOLUTION
​

• The Master Bedroom was instantly refreshed and updated with traditional-leaning print fabric slipcovers for the headboard and bench. 
• A new duvet cover, bed skirt, and pillows finished the bed. 
• Accessories and window treatments rounded out the look. 
• An antique rug from elsewhere in the house made a dramatic style statement in its new spot in the Master Bedroom. 
• In the Bathroom, we did end up changing the old countertop to a Cambria quartz one. 
• We also changed the brushed chrome fixtures for polished nickel ones. 

• ​The original tile in the shower area was mitigated by a couture shower curtain. 
• New wallpaper - a geometric printed metallic grasscloth on the walls and a mottled metallic silver on the ceiling - created an entirely new feel to this space. 
• A strong focal point was added when we removed the frameless vanity mirror and replaced it with a leather and nailhead-framed mirror.
