Sophisticated Wilmette Family Home

Living & Dining Rooms, Master Bedroom

Design Challenge

The clients were a family that had been living internationally over the past decade or so.  This was their first time in the Chicago area.  On their travels, these clients had amassed an impressive collection of furniture and objects.

The main task was to reallocate these rich resources into their new home and add some finishing touches, like window treatments and pillows.

Designed Solution

In the living room, new upholstered pieces were enhanced by the vibrant wall color.   The dining room across the hallway featured a rich red wall color.  Since both rooms faced the front of the house, we needed to unify them with a single style window treatments.  The client selected a warm gray dupioni silk with an understated tassel trim.

In the master bedroom, an eclectic mix of bedding and modern furniture played nicely off of embellished sheer window treatments.
